CMC's Load Release Strap makes sizing and tying a load-releasing hitch easy. Testing by Rigging for Rescue demonstrated several of the strap-based load-release hitches would fuse under high impact loads. Our improved design has significantly decreased this potential problem while maintaining the ease of tying and releasing.

The Load Release Strap is designed to be used in the end-to-end configuration. It is tested in the manner of use and while the wraps were done the same for each sample, they appear to have introduced a variability to the results such that the 3 sigma approach to calculating a statistical minimum breaking strength may not be appropriate. The test results of the five samples ranged from a minimum of 6,200 lbf. (27.6 kN) to a maximum of 10,900 lbf. (48.7 kN).
