The ultimate personal escape descender, the SMC Escape 8 allows a controlled rappel on ropes from 5 mm to 3/8 inch. The Escape 8 works like other Figure 8s with ears, minimizing the training required. It is lightweight and its small size makes it easy to stuff in a bail-out kit or a turnout coat pocket. Machined from aluminum plate with a gold anodized finish.
