UL Classified to NFPA 1983 - Escape
This very small Figure 8 descender works well with Escape Lines or other small diameter ropes where minimum size and weight are the primary requirements. The rounded edges reduce sharp bends. The large carabiner hole accepts a wide variety of carabiners and helps prevent binding. Machined of 3/8 inch aluminum stock. Hard anodized in a dark gray for those users that require a non-reflective surface.
 

* The NFPA 1983 (2006) minimum breaking strength is determined by rigging the descent control device in the manner of use, then locking off. For all CMC Rescue descenders, the failure mode was the rope, not the device being tested.
