Survivor Escape Kits - New!
CMC Rescue's
Survivor Kits offer firefighters a variety of choices for bailout,
building search, and RIT team operations. We know that everyone
has a personal preference for the rope they carry. Some use a
smaller diameter line for search and hauling tools, knowing it
will also hold their weight for an emergency rappel. Others prefer
rope only for emergency rappel or escape kits that can be
configured for immediate deployment. Escape and RIT Kit Bags come
in a variety of shapes and can be mounted on SCBA belts, tool
belts, and ladder belts, or suspended from an SCBA.
Choosing the right Escape or RIT Kit from CMC's
wide range of options can be challenging. We suggest starting by
selecting the primary components based on what is most important
to you.
Choose a Descender:
CMC ProSeries Escape Artist - The state of the art
descender for emergency bailout. It supports your weight and
leaves both hands free to negotiate a window exit.
CMC Survivor 8 - Quick to rig, making it useful if the rope
must be gripped throughout the escape exit and descent.
Choose a Rope:
ProSeries Escape Line - Constructed of an aramid fiber
sheath with a polyester core for high heat resistance. Combine
ProSeries Escape Line with a Pack or Pocket made of Ara-Shield
material.
CMC Rescue Escape Line - A polyester sheath/nylon core
rope. Combine CMC Rescue Escape Line with a Cordura nylon Pack,
Pocket, or Stuff Bag. Extensive testing in an oven and with live
fires demonstrated surprisingly good durability.
Choose a Container for the Rope:
Escape Pack - The Escape Pack mounts horizontally on an
SCBA, tool, or escape belt, with the opening to the front. This
provides fairly low profile and tends not to bump against the side
during moving. Multiple mounting rings allow the pack to be
suspended from an SCBA. A drawstring narrows the opening so even
if the flap snags an object and is pulled open, the rope will not
fall out. Available in Ara-Shield material or Cordura nylon.
Escape Pocket - The Escape Pocket mounts vertically on a
SCBA, tool or escape belt, and has a top opening. A mounting ring
on the top can be used to suspend the pocket from an SCBA. The
pocket may be a good choice for a multiple-task rope, since its
vertical orientation makes it easier to re-stuff while being worn.
Available in Ara-Shield material or Cordura nylon.
