collapse.
Designed as a stand-alone portable system that gives a single
rescuer the ability to listen deep within a collapsed structure.
The Victim Locator Kit utilizes a stainless steel probe that can
be hammered through rubble, dropped down shafts, or pushed into
cracks or crevices to listen for signs of life or to communicate
with a trapped victim. The probe fits a 2-inch bore hole and can
be attached to an extension pole for horizontal or vertical
reaches. Should be on the equipment list for responders to
earthquakes, avalanches, hurricanes, or bombings.
